My Mission: To make a more confident, stronger, and empowered human being to be able to move forward with their past, present, and future life. My journey in the mental health field started at California Lutheran University where I completed the master’s in science degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. I worked in various mental health settings, including group homes, adult, children/teen clinics, foster children, and Kinship families. I have done extensive work with the Transitional-aged youth (TAY 16-25) population and trained in Early Detection and Intervention for Psychosis. Past and present experience with clients struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, behavioral issues, family conflicts, and others. My experience has included working with individuals and families from different cultural backgrounds, including extensive work within the Latino community. My approach I strive to deliver culturally sensitive approaches and techniques. Focusing on inner strength and self-exploration. Forming a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients and providing a nonjudgmental environment that will challenge individuals for a better AND more positive outcome. My focus Tay population -16-25 y/o, Adults: individuals, older adults. My communication style Using a respectful, honest, direct, therapeutic, and reflective approach to build trust/rapport and provide a safe and comfortable environment for a client to express their feelings/emotions, deepest fears, and concerns.
